Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
