An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
